Chaim Achttienribbe recently opened his doors in the Czaar Peterstraat at the east side of the city centre. Close to the conservatory and the Muziekgebouw. Chaim, who started as a violin maker almost 20 years ago, repairs, restores, makes and sells violins, viola's, cello's, bows, strings and accessoires

We're open!
wednesday till friday from 10.00- 17.30 and on saturday from 10.00.13.00 
thuesday and monday by appointment.
 
 To avoid spreading  the virus :
-Please wait outside if there are other customers insde the shop
 -I clean your instrument before handing it back to you with alcohol.
 - I clean the door handles with alcohol after each customer visit.
 - We keep1,5m distance
 -If you like to try out instruments, let me know , I will clean strings, fingerboards, necks and chinrests with alcohol. You can play in a separate room.
 You can of course also order your strings by mail or in the webshop.

Newark School of Violin Making
 
 
In 1999 Chaim started violin making at the Newark School of Violin Making near Nottingham in the United Kingdom, where he passed his exams in 2002
The Newark school of Violin Making is next to the ones in Mittenwald-Gemany,Cremona-Italy, Mirecourt-France and Salt Lake City-United States one of the few violin making schools in the world.

In 2008 Chaim had the possibility to work for the Russian violin maker Vladislav Sirin for a while. Situated right under the roof of the conservatory of Saint Petersburg , it was an exciting place to broaden his knowledge of musical and cultural life
 
 
  

 
Loerakker Vioolbouwers
 
 
In 2002 Chaim started working for "Loerakker Vioolbouwers sinds 1936 B.V.". A well known violin shop in Haarlem, led by the skillful violin maker Vincent Loerakker. There, in tiny hidden workshop at the back of the otherwise luxurious shop, he  acquired the skill, routine and  secret knowledge  of violin and bow restoration.

In 2004 Bas and Chaim started a thriving new violin making workshop in Amstedam - the Pijp. Where Bas concentrated on new making and Chaim specialized in the restauration and repair of violins, cello's  and bows.
